Should we talk about sin in our churches, or is it a given? Is everyone just looking for good news? While we are looking and preaching the good news of Jesus Christ, we are missing an important point here. Jesus and the disciples understood sin more than we do, and they still spoke about sin often. Why? Because the grace in good news is best seen against the backdrop of our depravity. So next time you read something that reduces down the doctrine of sin, understand that we reduce down our opportunity to see the greatness of God's grace. It is only when we see our own depravity that we see the scope of God's great grace.
